About the Role

Reports To: VP of Construction
The Field Supervisor is charged with supervising the installation of all residential and commercial installations to the total satisfaction of the customer. The duties include all the necessary steps to accomplish a quality installation at the time agreed upon and at a cost equal to or less than estimated.

• Maintain employee morale, safety and job satisfaction.
• Accountable for monthly gross profit dollar result as per budget and/or sold by the sales department.
• Meet the estimate and/or budget of all projects, control and reduce unspoiled labor and costs.
• Plan, coordinate and direct the overall activities of the project assigned.
• Schedule jobs and activities with Construction Project Manager to obtain maximum customer satisfaction while achieving company gross margin targets (any changes made must be agreed upon with Construction Project Manager).
• Monitor progress on all installation projects.
• Ensure that all installation equipment and assets are maintained in according to client policies and procedures.
• Set timeline expectations for each job and hold field personnel accountable to expectations.
• Plan and schedule construction crews to keep overtime at a minimum and insure that labor and materials are being requisitioned and accounted for properly; overtime must be approved by the Construction Manager.
• Conduct regular meetings and training sessions with Construction personnel, ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.
• Monitor material list for field personnel and Performance Pay Personnel.
• Assist construction mechanics and Performance Pay Personnel with problems when necessary.
• Complete performance evaluations of all construction employees according to client policies and procedures with the Construction Manager.
• Participate in regular management production meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.

  • Independent judgment and initiative to take any action deemed necessary to carry out responsibilities, consulting with the President if a decision will have a major impact on the financial wellbeing of the company.

  • Self-motivated, good organization skills, and ability to work without close supervision. 

  • Demonstrate diplomacy and effectiveness with customers, field supervisors, sales department, and vendors.

  • Have an understanding of the importance of continuous training and skill enhancement for themselves and others.

  • Self-starter, team player, good organization skills, ability to work without close supervision. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to attract, keep, and motivate skilled and valued employees. 

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma, technical schooling, and/or apprenticeship.

  • Computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows is desirable.

  • 32 hours of training approved by the President.

  • Work in the field for on-the-job-training for a minimum of 6 days per year.
