About the Role

Summary/objective

The Sales Director will be responsible for leading and managing all new sales activities. The Sales Director will develop and implement a sales plan aligned with our company Strategic Initiatives while building strong relationships with key clients and partners. These high-level strategic accounts will include OEM/Captive Finance companies, automotive warranty claims administrators, insurance carriers, dealership groups, and other strategic business targets as assigned. Other duties will include working closely with the account management team to increase and/or maintain monthly volume targets, as well as monitor service, delivery, and unit performance.

  • Develop and execute the sales strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and build new client relationships.

  • Prospect, present, negotiate and close contracts with high value clients; navigate organizations to gain access to influencers and decision-makers.

  • Establish and monitor SLA’s with Operations and Account Management.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, industry influencers, and strategic partners.

  • Create and execute strategic sales plans aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Manage all sales aspects including setting sales goals, meeting quotas, and staying on track with the company budget.

  • Produce monthly sales reporting that analyzes data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

  • Regularly produce and revise sales projections based on market interactions.

  • Conduct market research to understand customers needs, competitors activities, and industry trends.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and client relationships to expand market presence.

  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and other company departments to promote client’s services and products.

  • Increase the volume and revenue by identifying new business opportunities from existing and new clients.

  • Manage travel budget and expense for assigned area and/or customers.

  • Utilize all appropriate means to research, respond to and resolve customer issues and concerns.

Work environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.


Physical demands

This is not a sedentary role. Significant business travel is required. Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment with significant travel to customer locations and industry events. Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.


Travel required

This position will require 50-75% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A visionary leader with with a proven track record of 8 to 10 years in sales leadership within the automotive, F&I, warranty, or inspection services industry; demonstrable existing relationships within the industry strongly desired.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills. Strong knowledge of sales strategies and methods.

  • Results-driven, proactive, and customer focused. Must have strong prospecting and follow up skills.

  • Senior level presence with experience presenting to Senior Level and C Level Management.

  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience

  • Eight + years of sales or sales management experience in a business-to-business sales environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have very strong analytical skills

  • Experience at the regional / district level managing multi-site businesses

  • Detail-oriented

  • Demonstrate strong research, analysis, communication, and follow through skills

  • Proven ability to learn, adapt, and achieve daily

  • Ability to work with high degrees of professionalism in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to work independently and show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
