About the Role
Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to perform machine setups, tooling adjustments, and precision machining operations within a high-tolerance manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate has experience with CNC mills or lathes, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Operation
Set up CNC mills and lathes for production runs.
Install tooling, fixtures, and workholding equipment.
Adjust offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Quality & Inspection
Read engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
Inspect finished components using precision measurement tools.
Identify and correct machining defects.
Production Efficiency
Troubleshoot tooling and machining problems.
Support first-article inspections and process improvements.
Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
Requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years of CNC machining and setup experience.
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
Experience with calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges.
Strong understanding of machining processes and cutting tools.
Ability to work independently in a production environment.
Additional Qualifications
Technical training in CNC machining or manufacturing technology preferred.
Experience with Haas, Mazak, Okuma, or Fanuc controls.
Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing tolerances.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
