About the Role
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Quotes Representative to support their sales, estimating, and customer service teams. This role is responsible for reviewing customer requests, preparing accurate quotes, communicating with vendors, and helping customers identify the right products or solutions for their needs.
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, basic technical aptitude, and experience working with quotes, parts, pricing, or customer orders in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, construction, or equipment-related environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review customer quote requests, drawings, specifications, and product requirements.
Prepare accurate and timely quotes for customers and internal sales teams.
Communicate with vendors and suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and lead times.
Work closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams to clarify quote details.
Enter quote information into the company’s CRM, ERP, or quoting system.
Follow up on outstanding quotes and assist with converting quotes into orders.
Research product information, part numbers, materials, and technical specifications.
Provide professional support to customers by phone and email.
Identify potential pricing discrepancies, missing information, or order concerns.
Maintain organized records of quotes, revisions, and customer communication.
Support continuous improvement of quoting processes and response times.
Assist with other administrative or customer service duties as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
1–3 years of experience in quoting, customer service, inside sales, estimating, purchasing, or order entry.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial supply, construction materials, equipment, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or distribution preferred.
Ability to read and understand basic technical documents, product specifications, or drawings.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Ability to manage multiple quote requests and deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn technical product details.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using ERP or CRM systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
Previous experience quoting parts, materials, equipment, or custom products.
Familiarity with purchase orders, lead times, margins, and vendor pricing.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
