About the Role
As a Purchasing Manager, you will work closely with the Director of Supply Chain to administer daily purchasing procedures and lead initiatives that contribute to the purchasing department running efficiently. You will perform purchase management responsibilities, maintain various reports, and communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers. A successful candidate will be able to lead the purchasing department, identify new opportunities for customers, and collaborate with cross functional teams to add value for all of our vendors and customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading, developing and training the Purchasing department in best practice processes
- Review, track, and oversee all purchase order activity for multiple locations across the U.S.
- Monitoring inventory value levels to ensure efficient use of company funds
- Collaborating with Operations & Sales to execute the company SiOPS plan
- Coordinate expediting activities to optimize supplier on time delivery and minimize past due customer orders.
- Assist in building the company’s strategic sourcing plan and help to ensure seamless execution of it
- Identify both hard and soft cost savings opportunities within the supply chain
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working in Industrial Distribution.
· Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or other process improvement methodologies.
