Key Objective
As a Sheet Fed Press Operator, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality printed products and labels. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining sheet-fed printing presses while ensuring production meets customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain sheet-fed printing press equipment according to customer and job ticket specifications
Review job orders to determine setup requirements including substrates, inks, coatings, and finishing needs
Set up press by loading sheets, installing plates/blankets, adjusting ink and water balance, and ensuring accurate registration and color consistency
Monitor press performance during production runs and make adjustments as needed
Conduct quality checks to ensure printed materials meet company and customer standards
Troubleshoot print and press issues while minimizing downtime and material waste
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Collaborate with production teams, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet deadlines and production goals
Requirements
Qualifications
Previous experience operating sheet-fed offset or digital presses such as Heidelberg, Komori, KBA, or similar equipment
Knowledge of substrates used in labels, cartons, packaging, or specialty print applications
Strong attention to detail with a focus on color accuracy and print quality
Ability to read and interpret job tickets, schedules, and production specifications
Familiarity with offset, UV, and water-based inks and coatings preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor adjustments and troubleshooting
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Reliable team player with strong communication skills and a positive work ethic
