About the Role

Job Summary


The Director of Quality will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems across all facilities. This individual will serve as a key leader in ensuring all products meet strict customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

This role requires strong cross-functional leadership across operations, production, supply chain, and customer service teams.


Key Responsibilities



Quality Management Systems (QMS)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QMS programs aligned with ISO, GMP, and customer requirements

  • Ensure consistency of quality systems across multiple manufacturing sites

Industry-Specific Quality Leadership

  • Apply deep expertise in labels, shrink sleeves, and flexible packaging

  • Improve process control, reduce defects, and enhance product consistency

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives focused on waste reduction and process optimization

  • Drive Kaizen events and operational improvement projects

Compliance & Auditing

  • Manage internal, external, and customer audits

  • Address non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented

Supplier & Customer Quality

  • Establish and maintain supplier quality standards

  • Serve as escalation point for customer quality issues and resolutions

Data & Performance Reporting

  • Track KPIs and quality metrics across all sites

  • Provide actionable insights to senior leadership

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop quality teams across locations

  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • 7–10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience

  • Minimum 5 years in labels, shrink sleeves, or flexible packaging

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards, GMP, FDA packaging regulations, and audit processes

  • Experience leading multi-site quality teams in manufacturing environments

  • Strong cross-functional leadership with operations and supply chain teams

  • Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO Lead Auditor certification strongly preferred


Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in pressure-sensitive labels and flexible packaging quality systems

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, QMS platforms, and SPC tools

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to drive data-driven decisions

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused manufacturing environment
