About the Role
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing and operational performance, including production, facilities, quality alignment, and workforce leadership. This role focuses on optimizing efficiency, improving profitability, and ensuring high-quality output across all production functions.
You will oversee multiple departments and supervisory leaders while partnering closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Customer Service, IT, and Facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Strategy
Develop and execute short- and long-term manufacturing and operational strategies
Lead workforce planning, capacity planning, and capital investment initiatives
Align production output with overall business goals
Production & Performance Optimization
Monitor manufacturing KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows
Ensure inventory control and operational accuracy across departments
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, hire, train, and develop supervisors and production teams
Build a strong, accountable, and performance-driven culture
Manage performance evaluations and employee development programs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales and Customer Service to align production schedules with demand
Collaborate with IT and Facilities to ensure operational stability and security
Work closely with purchasing, shipping, receiving, and R&D functions
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with OSHA and manufacturing safety standards
Promote a strong safety-first culture across all operations
Continuous Improvement
Lead Lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
Implement cost-saving strategies and operational efficiencies
Requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
6+ years of operations or manufacturing leadership experience
OR 10+ years of combined education and experience
Strong background in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations
Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and cross-functional teams
Strong understanding of production systems, KPIs, and operational metrics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Additional Qualifications
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Manufacturing environment with moderate noise and moving machinery
Strong focus on safety compliance and operational discipline
